Our first issue, Issue 001, will be coming in next week as a full color printed magazine. Our little magazine will arrive in New Mexico with some 150 copies. All contributors will receive two (2) copies, as mentioned on our Submissions page. Those who would like a printed copy, please contact our Editor-in-Chief at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are updating our terms of submission, so we can include a writers'/artists' fund and subscriptions to Free Radicals magazine. These terms will be in effect starting with Issue 002, which is to be published in October 2021.
We are also finalizing our submissions to the U.S. ISSN Center, so we can have a permanent set of ISSNs for our magazine.
Print copies of Issue 001 will be available starting mid-August, if all goes well. We are currently reviewing a pre-run print of Free Radicals, so we are hoping to have that completed here soon.
Due to an influx in submissions, we are running behind. With that said, we are hoping to catch up here soon.
If you are awaiting a reply for a submission sent to Free Radicals, please keep in mind that we are finishing up the first round of submissions by week's end. The submissions deadline for the first issue is June 10. We will begin processing and sending out letters by Friday, June 11, through Sunday, June 13.
Wanted to update everyone with the goings-on here at Free Radicals. We have been assigned two (2) provisional ISSNs for our print and electronic versions of Free Radicals magazine. In July, we are scheduled to send out print copies of the magazine to contributors and those interested in the magazine in general. I am working on the final edits for those pieces that have been accepted for Issue 001. I am still working through submissions sent between February and May 2021. My hope is to have those submissions personally reviewed by month's end, or at least by the beginning of June 2021. Lastly, a PDF copy of the magazine will be made available here on Free Radicals' official Website by May/June, depending on editorial issues.
For those submitting fiction pieces, please use the industry-standard formatting as seen on William Shunn's Official Website.
For those submitting artwork/photography, please ensure your pictures are print-quality. That means images/artwork need to be 300 dpi.
Make sure you include a readable (and professional) cover letter, introducing yourself, your submission(s), and your experiences. The cover letter should include contact information, including a mailing address. This information will be used to send your contributor copies if you are accepted for publication.
Offer a fifty-word biography in third-person. Keep it short and engaging.
